Marmalade Sky for electronic percussion trio, was composed in 2019-20 and commissioned by Gaudeamus Muziekweek. The piece utilises probability sequencing, justly intoned additive synthesis and varied electronic performative interfaces, with the group asked to meld together to form a warm and slowly rotating mobile that shifts from state to state. Personally, the piece was composed when all instrumental resources (other than the computer) were out of reach and marks a concrete shift towards electronic soundworlds and performance techniques, both of which have become central to much of my subsequent compositional practice.
