High Summer develops central preoccupations in my work- jump cuts between finely textured noise and distorted electric drones, the exploration of extremes of register, dynamic and timbre, and the weaving of disjunct sonic components together to form a continually evolving line in which sounds share a common fate.
The piece was composed for piper Erwan Keravec and pre-recorded modular synthesizer. The electronics can optionally be diffused alone (as heard in excerpts above- extended live recording tbc).
